A member of BHP Billiton’s Stybarrow Operations Team has inspired her work mates to stay safe to help find a cure.
BHP Billiton’s Stybarrow Development is an offshore oil project in Western Australia. The team works with oil reserves at a depth of more than 800 metres.
In this environment, safety is absolutely paramount and the Stybarrow facility has a strict safety regime. Between September 2014 and February 2015, BHP Billiton implemented an operational safety incentive in order to ensure understanding of safety protocols. Each month, a nominated charity received $5,000–$6,000 if the team met monthly performance targets for health and safety.
Stybarrow caterer, Lucy Bromwell (pictured middle), has a granddaughter who is impacted by Cystic Fibrosis. She nominated Cure4CF as her team’s designated charity, which was fully supported by the crew.
We were delighted to receive BHP Billiton’s donation of $6,000 and congratulate the Stybarrow Operations Team on meeting their targets and BHP Billiton for their creativity and generosity in designing their incentive program.
